A: Begin Rack And Pinion inner Tie Rod replacement by taking off the Rack and Pinion Boot from the vehicle. Another technician should support the rack throughout the operation of removing or putting in the inner Tie Rod. After removing the shock dampener from the inner Tie Rod assembly you can position it on the rack. Use a brush to clean off existing loctite (R) residues from the rack's threads as well as inner Tie Rod threads. Place the shock dampener in front position on the rack after cleaning threads before applying loctite r262 (or equivalent) to inner Tie Rod threads. To attach the inner Tie Rod to the rack assembly users must first torque it to 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.) while placing a torque wrench on the flats of the rack assembly and a wrench on the flats of the inner Tie Rod housing . Complete Rack And Pinion assembly by sliding the shock dampener forward while guiding it to rest on the inner Tie Rod housing front lip.
