How to replace the rack and pinion boot using the J22610 Service Boot Clamp Installer on Cadillac DeVille?

In order to remove Rack and Pinion Boot off the vehicle, apply j22610 service boot clamp installer. Firstly, remove the outer rod tie, after that take off the hex jam nut from the inner tie rod assembly. Next, take off the tie rod end clamp from Rack and Pinion Boot and use side cutters to remove boot clamp from Rack and Pinion Boot, throwing the old one away. Take extra care when pulling the Rack and Pinion Boot from the Rack And Pinion gear assembly and inspect the boot as there may be evidence of gear oil leakage within it. Drain out oil and solvency clean out Rack and Pinion Boot. For assembly, put on a new boot clamp onto the Rack and Pinion Boot and grease the inner tie rod assembly and the Rack And Pinion gear assembly before putting the Rack and Pinion Boot onto the inner tie rod assembly. Check that the boot is neither twisted nor puckered and fix it by pressing when necessary prior to inserting it in the groove of the gear assembly. The boot clamp should be crimped on the boot using the j22610 while you pinch the plier together on the boot so as to install the tie rod end clamp. Finally, install the hex jam nut to the inner tie rod assembly to complete the process.
