How to service the EGR valve on Cadillac Eldorado?

Examination of the EGR passages inside the crossover water pump housing should be done before cleaning any found deposits. The EGR electrical connector should be disconnected before performing the removal of the EGR valve retaining nuts/bolts and the valve from the system. Always apply a new gasket during installation of the cleaned EGR valve on its mounting surface. The EGR valve receiving nuts/bolts need tightening to a torque level of 24 N.m (18 lb ft). Connect the EGR valve electrical connector at the end of the installation.
