The first step involves removing the Intake Manifold and disconnecting wires from both the Intake Manifold terminal and the Starter. Last step before starting service is disconnecting the Battery Cable from the Starter terminal. The two Starter mounting bolts need to be removed while the technician takes out the Starter. You should install the wire on the "s" terminal of the Starter before closing the nut to 3 n.m (27 lb in). Next fasten the Battery Cable lead while tightening its nut to 8 n.m (71 lb in). Temporarily install and fix the Starter motor with mounting bolts while tightening them to 30 n.m (22 lb ft). The final step involves putting back the Intake Manifold followed by reconnecting the battery negative cable.
