Cadillac Escalade Door Latch Assembly Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Replace a Door Latch Assembly on a Cargo Door Upper on Cadillac Escalade?
A: The process to replace the rear door latch (Cargo Door Upper) begins by removing the door trim panel then continuing with bolt removal that keeps the latch attached to the door. You should remove the latch while disconnecting the actuator cable assembly until you can take out the latch bolts and completely remove the latch. Begin by linking the actuator cable assembly to the latch after which you should install the bottom two bolts without tightening them. Expose the latch assembly by closing the door to enable self-adjustment and securely bolt these components to 9 N.m (80 lb in force). Open the door to position the upper bolt before tightening it to 9 N.m (80 lb in) and afterward reattach the door trim panel.
