How to replace the ignition lock cylinder on Cadillac Escalade ESV?

The procedure to replace Ignition Switch lock cylinder begins with sir system deactivation. Climb behind the knee bolster and remove the steering column shroud. Install an allen wrench into the top hole of the Ignition Lock Cylinder case while maintaining the key in start position to depress the tab that releases the cylinder so it can slide out. During installation check that the gears connecting the ignition/start switch with the Ignition Lock Cylinder case align properly because misalignment may cause no start and battery drain conditions. Turn the Ignition Lock Cylinder case gear clockwise into the start position so it can naturally return to run. Begin by sliding the key into the Ignition Lock Cylinder then achieve proper alignment before installing it into the Ignition Lock Cylinder case.
