The keys have 10 cut positions and 4 different depths. The master key opens all locks, the valet key opens the door locks and ignition only, while the emergency key, which has no transponder, opens only the door locks and ip storage compartment lock. For Door Lock cylinder, this that also has seven cut positions, pick cylinder with the four tumbler spring wells up, then put springs in, and load the tumblers with them staying in. Once checking for optimal loading, lubricate the tumbler surfaces, plate springs, and put everything together with the shutter assembly and detent components. How to replace the ignition lock cylinder on Chevrolet SSR? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin the Ignition Lock Cylinder replacement by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable while disabling the sir system and following appropriate safety protocols. Start by lowering the hush and knee bolster before removing the steering column trim covers. Fasten the key into the run position before inserting an allen wrench through the housing hole to push the release tab down so the lock cylinder becomes removable. For installation, insert the key into the lock cylinder and ensure the gears between the Ignition Switch and the lock cylinder housing are correctly positioned to avoid misalignment that could lead to a no start or battery drain; turn the lock cylinder housing gear clockwise until it reaches the start position then let it naturally return to the run position. To install the lock cylinder properly into its housing position it correctly before moving forward with reinstalling the steering column trim covers as well as the hush and knee bolster. The last step involves enabling the sir system before reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
