    Q: How to replace the engine oil cooler hose/pipe for 2WD on Cadillac Escalade EXT?
    A: For the 2wd vehicles when replacing the engine Oil Cooler Hose/pipe, one should first remove the engine oil cooler quick connect fitting. For the vehicles using a 5.3l or 6.0l engine, the procedure is opening the Oil Cooler Hose clip at the lower Fan Shroud and also removing the hoses from that clip while raising the vehicle and supporting it. For the car with an 8.1l engine, take the hoses out of the clip, lift and secure the vehicle, and if fitted, remove the bolts of the engine shield and the engine shield. For engines of 5.3l or 6.0l, remove Oil Cooler Hose bracket bolt and the Oil Cooler Hose adapter bolts ; take out the Oil Cooler Hose assembly and replace the gasket and inspect all fittings, connectors, and hoses for damage. For 8.1l engines, take off the bolt of Oil Cooler Hose bracket, disconnect the quick connect fittings from the engine, remove the hose assembly, and dispose of the gasket while examining for damage. For installation if packaged with an 8.1l engine, connect the quick connect fittings at the engine which requires a distinct snap to be heard when the tube ends are connected and also tighten the Oil Cooler Hose bracket bolt to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). For the 5.3l or 6.0l engines, include the installation of the Oil Cooler Hose assembly with a new gasket, tighten the Oil Cooler Hose adapter bolts 12 nm (106 inch lbs.) and Oil Cooler Hose bracket bolt 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). If available, check install the engine shield and bolts, tightening them to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). For 8.1l engines, to the oil cooler line must be fitted with a plastic cap on the end that connects with the quick connect fitting not using the cap to install the cooler line. Finally attach the oil cooler hoses to the clip and in 5.3l or 6.0l project engines snap the Oil Cooler Hose clip to close and pipe the hoses to the Radiator.
