How to replace the radiator fan and fan shroud on Cadillac Escalade?

The first task before replacing the Radiator fan and shroud involves draining the cooling system. As the second step extract the air duct then detach the upper Radiator Hose from the Radiator. Detach the Radiator inlet hose clip at the fan shroud after which you can either reposition or remove the surge tank inlet hose from the Radiator. First disconnect the electrical connectors of the Radiator fans before removing the clip which fastens the wiring harness to the shroud. Then uninstall transmission cooler lines bolts from the fan shroud. Aware of the need to proceed, open the engine oil cooler line clip for access to remove the cooler lines. You must remove the bolts holding the Radiator fan shroud in place followed by removing the fan together with the shroud. Insert the 3 lower tabs of the Radiator fan and shroud into the Radiator support flange with the shroud positioned parallel to the Radiator. Start by installing and tightening the Radiator fan shroud bolts to 9 nm (80 lb in). Then install the cooler lines into the clip and close it when equipped. Combine the fan wiring connectors after you put in the harness clip then tighten the transmission cooling line bolts to 4 nm (35 lb in) when you attack them to the fan shroud. To install or reposition the surge tank inlet hose you should attach it to the Radiator then move the hose clamp into place. Reinstall the upper Radiator Hose after hooking the Radiator inlet hose clip to the fan shroud. Then place back the air inlet duct. Finally, fill the cooling system.
