    Q:
How to replace the radiator fan and fan shroud on Chevrolet Avalanche 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disassembly of the Radiator fan and shroud starts with removing the radiator inlet hose clip at the fan shroud followed by relocating the surge tank inlet hose clamp to the radiator before extracting the surge tank inlet hose from the radiator. The first step to fan replacement requires disconnecting electrical plugs from the fans and removing the shroud wiring harness retaining clip. You should open the engine oil cooler line clip when necessary to remove the cooler lines from its clip. Then continue by removing the Radiator fan shroud bolts to extract both the fan along with the shroud. When installing the fan and shroud unit place the three lower components into the radiator support but keep the shroud facing directly at the radiator for correct tab positioning. Fasten the Radiator fan shroud bolts at 9 nm with a 80 inch lbs torque value following the notice in service precautions. The cooler lines should be attached to the clip followed by clip closure while electrical connectors are connected to radiator fans then the wiring harness clip is installed to the shroud. You should install the surge tank inlet hose onto the radiator before moving on to reposition the surge tank inlet hose clamp at the radiator followed by engagement of the radiator inlet hose clip at the fan shroud.

    Q:
How to replace the fan blade in a gasoline engine on GMC Sierra 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace a gasoline engine Fan Blade is to start by dismounting the upper Fan Shroud. Using the j 46406 Fan Clutch remover and installer (J 46406) attach the tool to the Fan Clutch before unscrewing the fan hub nut from the Water Pump with counterclockwise motion. Start by taking out the bolts from the Fan Blade rear section before disconnecting the Fan Clutch from the blade. New fan assemblies require replacement with totally undamaged units to avoid property damage or specific injuries that can be caused by unbalanced fan rotation. Start by mounting the Fan Clutch onto the Fan Blade followed by Fan Clutch bolt installation and torquing them to 23 nm (17 ft.lbs.). To install the assembly connect the fan first while using the j 46406 (J 46406) to fasten the nut clockwise to 56 nm (41 ft. Lbs.). Reinstallation of the upper Fan Shroud completes the installation process.
