    Q:
How to replace the engine coolant thermostat on Cadillac CTS? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the Thermostat replacement task by partially draining the cooling system through the cooling system draining and filling (GE 47716) procedure. Follow the documented Intake Manifold replacement (SFI) instructions to remove the upper Intake Manifold. At first disconnect the surge tank outlet pipe from the Thermostat then take out the coolant pipe/Thermostat housing bolt and the upper coolant pipe bolt . Disconnect the coolant inlet pipe from the Thermostat before unfastening the Thermostat bolts . Afterward remove the Thermostat by discarding the Thermostat seal . Install the new Thermostat with a new Thermostat seal by following the 10 nm (89 lb in) torque recommendations when tightening the Thermostat bolts. The coolant pipe installation requires new sealing material and fasteners (2 and 7). Additionally the surge tank outlet pipe needs to connect to the Thermostat. Reinstall the upper Intake Manifold after performing cooling system filling through the cooling system draining and filling (GE 47716) standard.

    Q:
How to replace the engine coolant thermostat on Chevrolet Camaro? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by draining the engine coolant from the cooling system to replace the engine coolant Thermostat. Portfolio evaluation requires a cooling system flush with subsequent replacement of Water Pump and Thermostat when oil contamination exists in the cooling system. Move the outlet hose clamp away from the inlet side of the Water Pump before removing the outlet hose from its inlet connection. The next step requires removing both Water Pump inlet bolts before the Water Pump inlet can be taken out. The o-ring seal runs through the Thermostat Housing so it needs to be extracted. When installing the Thermostat Housing you should first ensure both an o-ring seal fits properly into its designated groove. Attach the Water Pump inlet (with Thermostat) then tighten its bolts to 15 nm (11 lb ft). Secure the outlet hose to the Water Pump inlet then place the outlet hose clamp on the water outlet. Finally, fill the cooling system.

    Q:
How to replace the thermostat on a 4.3L engine on Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin by draining the cooling system to replace the Thermostat on a 4.3l engine. Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamp on the mass airflow/intake air temperature (MAF/IAT) sensor, then, remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose and the air cleaner adapter nut. Lift up the air cleaner outlet duct till the hinge clip is released from the lip within the Throttle Body hence repositioning the inlet hose clamp to the water outlet and taking off the inlet hose. Next, take out the water outlet studs and the water outlet and then the Thermostat. Clean sealing surfaces of both water outlet and Intake Manifold and throw the old o-ring seal. For installation, fit a new o-ring seal on the Thermostat and install it, then the water outlet. Install the water outlet studs and tighten them to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Reconnect the inlet hose to the water outlet and the location of the inlet hose clamp. The second step is to slide the bolt through the hole, align the hinge clip with the Throttle Body lip and turn the air cleaner outlet duct down into the position where the nut mount goes onto the air cleaner adapter and the pcv hose. Tighten the clamp of the air cleaner outlet duct on the maf/iat sensor to 4 nm (35 inch lbs.). Finally, fill up the system for cooling and check for leaks.

Start Thermostat replacement by mounting a fresh o-ring seal before adding the Thermostat component. Follow this order for installation by adding the water outlet tube followed by the water outlet and finishing with the water outlet tube.
