    A: Start your engine coolant Thermostat replacement project on a 4.2l engine by obtaining these basic tools: hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Start your process by draining coolant from the Radiator. Next, remove the generator. First remove the outlet hose clamp from the Thermostat Housing before you disconnect the outlet hose. Next remove the Thermostat Housing bolts before extracting the Thermostat Housing from its position on the engine block. First wipe down everything inside the Thermostat Housing before cleaning the contacting area where the engine block meets the housing. Position the Thermostat Housing on the engine block before screwing in Thermostat Housing bolts until they reach 10 n.m (89 lb in). The Radiator Hose's inner diameter needs lubrication with engine coolant before re-attaching the outlet hose to the Thermostat Housing through its clamp installation. Replace the generator then fill the cooling system according to coolant specifications. After starting the engine the technician should inspect all areas with sealing surfaces for possible leaks.
