Twist all transmission cooling line bolts on the fan shroud into place until they reach 4 n.m (35 lb in) torque. The surge tank inlet hose needs installation onto the Radiator followed by adjusting the surge tank inlet hose clamp when needed. Hook the Radiator inlet hose clip at the fan shroud before reconnection of the upper Radiator Hose and air inlet duct installation. Finally, fill the cooling system.

Combine the fan wiring connectors after you put in the harness clip then tighten the transmission cooling line bolts to 4 nm (35 lb in) when you attack them to the fan shroud. To install or reposition the surge tank inlet hose you should attach it to the Radiator then move the hose clamp into place. Reinstall the upper Radiator Hose after hooking the Radiator inlet hose clip to the fan shroud. Then place back the air inlet duct. Finally, fill the cooling system.

Mount the cooler lines into the clip before closing it then connect electrical connectors to the fans and secure the harness clip onto the shroud. Secure the transmission cooling line bolts at the fan shroud with proper torque of 4 n.m (35 lb in). The surge tank inlet hose should be installed onto the Radiator before repositioning its clamp. Secure the clip on the Radiator inlet hose at the fan shroud while reconnecting the upper hose and then reinstalling the air duct. Finally, fill the cooling system.

The first step to replace a gasoline engine Fan Blade is to start by dismounting the upper Fan Shroud. Using the j 46406 Fan Clutch remover and installer (J 46406) attach the tool to the Fan Clutch before unscrewing the fan hub nut from the Water Pump with counterclockwise motion. Start by taking out the bolts from the Fan Blade rear section before disconnecting the Fan Clutch from the blade. New fan assemblies require replacement with totally undamaged units to avoid property damage or specific injuries that can be caused by unbalanced fan rotation. Start by mounting the Fan Clutch onto the Fan Blade followed by Fan Clutch bolt installation and torquing them to 23 nm (17 ft.lbs.). To install the assembly connect the fan first while using the j 46406 (J 46406) to fasten the nut clockwise to 56 nm (41 ft. Lbs.). Reinstallation of the upper Fan Shroud completes the installation process.

The procedure requires installation and adjustment of the surge tank inlet hose at the Radiator followed by application of the Radiator inlet hose clip at the fan shroud and attachment of the upper Radiator Hose and air inlet duct reinstallation. Finally, fill the cooling system.

Two different fan blades must be selected for installation: a 5-blade fan and a separate 7-blade fan. The next step is to place the fan assembly while utilizing the Fan Clutch remover and installer (J 46406) to reach 56 nm (41 ft. Lbs.) torque by turning the nut clockwise. Reinstall the upper Fan Shroud as the last step of installation.

If equipped, install the cooler lines to the clip and close the clip, connect the electrical connectors to the cooling fans, and install the clip attaching the wiring harness to the shroud.

Remove the cooling fan shroud bolts and take out the cooling fan and shroud.

Reinstall the upper fan shroud.
