Place a strip of plastic thread on the connecting rod journal and then apply the connecting rod cap with the connecting Rod Bearing. The connecting rod bolts are reusable for checking clearance; tighten the connecting rod cap bolts to 35 nm (26 ft. Lbs.). Rotate the connecting rod cap bolts first to 45 degrees and then subsequently to another 45 degrees using the torque angle meter (J 36660-A). Don't forget to pry out the connecting rod bolts and connect Rod Bearing cap, measure the width of the flattened plastic thread and callibrate the scale on the plastic gage package, the allowed tolerance should be between 0.010 - 0.061mm (0.0004 - 0.0024 inch).
