How to Replace a Tailgate Handle on an End Gate on Cadillac Escalade?

Begin your tailgate release handle replacement by opening the liftgate then taking off the trim panel. The handle assembly replacement starts with removing the nuts from behind the tailgate's handle assembly while simultaneously freeing the actuator cable assembly from the handle. Install the handle assembly into the tailgate following Fastener Notice in Service Precautions before securing nuts behind the handle assembly from the tailgate end and torque the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Snap the actuator cable assembly to the handle before securing the liftgate trim panel.
