You must begin with disconnecting the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) sensor harness connector and turning OFF ignition before replacing the Mass Air Flow Sensor. Unclip the air cleaner cover retainer then free the outlet duct from the Mass Air Flow Sensor by loosening the clamp. Take care to handle the Mass Air Flow Sensor because dropping it can lead to damage while avoiding both screen damage on the air inlet end and contact with the sensing elements. Keep solvents and lubricants away from sensor elements then apply a small droplet of soap water as an installation aid. Disconnection of the air cleaner cover from the Mass Air Flow Sensor occurs by loosening its hose clamp at the front. The Mass Air Flow Sensor must be installed onto the air cleaner cover using a hose clamp torque of 4 N.m (35 lb in) while maintaining the flow arrows directed toward the air cleaner. Connect the Mass Air Flow Sensor to the air cleaner outlet duct by tightening the hose clamp to 4 N.m (35 lb in). Follow the installation by attaching the air cleaner cover retainer clips and finishing with Mass Air Flow Sensor harness connector connection.
