How to replace the Leaf Spring Shackle on Chevrolet Avalanche 1500?

The first step for spring shackle replacement requires lifting the vehicle using proper equipment and supporting it. Take the leaf spring assembly out from the vehicle during the next step. Remove the bolt together with the shackle nut that secures the spring at this point. The first step is to secure the shackle to the spring as per the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions instructions. Fasten the shackle nut along with bolt onto the spring while applying 95 N.m (70 lb ft) torque to the shackle nut. The leaf spring assembly is then reattached to the vehicle after safety stands are removed and you can lower the vehicle.
