The torx(r) head shift lever screw requires exposure by pulling back the seal on the shift lever so it can be removed. Remove both the knee bolster along with its nuts from the knee bolster deflector bracket. It is necessary to remove the wire harness retaining clip during the Steering Column removal process yet reinstall it afterward to protect the wiring harness from damage. To get to the electrical wiring inside the harness insulation you need to first remove the instrument panel wiring harness retaining pin and then detach the wire straps before opening the insulation.
