Chevrolet Avalanche 2500 MAP Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the MAP Sensor on Chevrolet Avalanche 2500?
A: Begin MAP Sensor replacement by unscrewing the fastener holding the Intake Manifold sight shield then removing this shield from the Intake Manifold. To remove the MAP Sensor you should disconnect its electrical connector then unfasten the retaining bolt together with the washer before pulling out the sensor from the Intake Manifold. Examine the MAP Sensor seal for evidence of damage or wear and get a new MAP Sensor if needed. When replacing the new MAP Sensor it is necessary to apply a thin layer of rubber lubricant (part number 9985770) using a brush or sponge on the sensor's seal. This application needs to be done without submerging the sensor port to avoid blockages. Tighten the fastener to 12 n.m (106 lb in) after installing the MAP Sensor through its retaining bolt and washer . The MAP Sensor must be connected electrically after inserting it into position followed by reattaching the Intake Manifold sight shield with a 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque specification.
