Chevrolet Camaro Canister Purge Valves Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the canister purge valves on Chevrolet Camaro?
A: Begin by turning off ignition and disconnecting the electrical connector from the evap canister purge valve. First disconnect the evap canister purge pipe from the evap purge valve before removing its retaining bolt. Remove the evap canister purge valve from its position on the Intake Manifold as the next step. During installation place the evap canister purge valve on the Intake Manifold while using the correct fasteners in the proper locations due to replacement part numbers matching the specification. Paints and lubricants and corrosion inhibitors must not be used on fasteners and joint surfaces unless explicitly mentioned because they interfere with torque and clamp force performance. Tighten down the evap canister purge valve retaining bolt to 10 nm (89 in lb). To finish the process you must connect both the electrical connector to the evap canister purge valve and also connect the evap purge pipe to the evap purge valve.
