2002 Chevrolet Camaro Canister Purge Valves Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the canister purge valves on 2002 Chevrolet Camaro?
A: The evap Canister Purge Valves replacement process starts with turning off the ignition followed by disconnecting the electrical connector from the valves. The evap canister purge pipe needs disconnection from the valves before the valves' retaining bolt can be removed. You need to extract the evap Canister Purge Valves from their position on the Intake Manifold after disconnecting them from the manifold. The new evap Canister Purge Valves should be placed on the Intake Manifold while following technical precautions about fasteners during installation. The retaining bolt needs to be installed before torquing it to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reposition both components through completion of attaching the electrical connector to the evap Canister Purge Valves and connecting the evap purge pipe to its exposed area.
