Check the tube for plastic damage, torn filter screens or a blocked filter screen and a damaged brass A/C orifice tube. Any damage should result in replacement of the tube. Adding a new O-ring to the tube becomes mandatory when planning to reuse the tool after cleaning the filter screen with low-pressure shop air. The installation requires a light application of mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil on the new O-ring seal before removing any protective cap from the evaporator tube. Use needle-nose pliers to handle the expansion A/C orifice tube at its edge without touching the filter screen before placing the tube (live filter screen facing away from the unit) entirely into the evaporator line. Seal the tube fittings with a clean lint-free cloth after which position an O-ring on the condenser tube that has been treated with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
