To center the inflatable restraint air bag clock spring, straighten the wheels, set the block tooth of the
Steering Shaft assembly at 12 o'clock, and the Ignition Switch assembly sociable to lock posing to improper alignment, may cause a malfunction of an inflatable restraint. If the front of the sir clock spring has a centering window and the back has a spring service lock, hold the clock spring face up, press the spring service lock and turn hub clockwise until it stops. Next, rotate the hub anticlockwise until the centering window is yellow and both arrows are aligned, release the spring service lock, then slide the centered clock spring onto the Steering Shaft assembly. If the front has a centering window and no spring service lock on the back side - hold the clock spring face up, rotate it clockwise until the ribbon stops, counterclockwise until yellow is shown in the centering window and both arrows are lined, put the clock spring on the Steering Shaft assembly. If there is no centering window on the front but only a spring service lock on the rear, hold the clock spring rear siding, pull the spring service lock, turn the hub toward the arrow until the ribbon stops, then turn the hub in the opposite direction 2 1/2 revolutions, release the spring service lock and push the clock spring on the Steering Shaft assembly. Finally, if there is no centering window on the front side and no back side spring service lock perform the following operations: hold the clock spring with face to the top at a time - turn the hub (without the spring in the Clock Spring) in the direction of the arrow until it slips, then counterclockwise for 2½ revolutions to the center position and insert the clock spring onto the Steering Shaft assembly and keep the clock spring in the center position.
