Start by obtaining the required tools comprising strut compressor (J 34013-B), holding fixture (J 3289-20), and strut compressor adapter (J 34013-88). The first step starts by taking out the strut assembly before mounting the strut compressor (J 34013-B) to the holding fixture (J 3289-20). Follow this step by step installation of strut assembly into strut compressor (J 34013-B) through strut compressor adapter (J 34013-88) while compressing the coil spring. Begin by taking off the dust cap then follow with the removal of the strut rod piston nut while releasing the compressed spring. Remove the strut support and dust seal and spring seat and upper insulator as well as coil spring and spring bumper and lower insulator from the strut compressor (J 34013-B). Detach the lower insulator followed by the spring bumper then coil spring and upper insulator before installing the spring seat followed by the dust seal and strut support to the strut assembly. Placing the strut assembly within the strut compressor (J 34013-B) while utilizing the strut compressor adapter (J 34013-88) allows you to re-compress the coil spring . Apply the strut rod piston nut by keeping the top of the strut rod stationary and torque it to 75 n.m (55 lb ft). After the installation of the dust cap complete the procedure by decompressing the coil spring to detach the strut from the strut compressor (J 34013-B) before inserting the strut assembly.
