The Chevrolet Colorado TPMS Sensor is an important safety feature for the enhancement of the Chevrolet Colorado vehicles with a major function of detecting pressures in tires. It also has a function that signals high or low pressure return to appropriate driving conditions for the tires. Every Chevrolet Colorado is built with a TPMS Sensor for every tire; it comes separately, in pairs, and in a set of four so that drivers will never have issues with their tires again. The Chevrolet Colorado utilizes two primary types of TPMS Sensors: iTPMS and dTPMS: Two subcategories of TPMS that are in existence today. While iTPMS can also be said to encompass an easy method for coming up with the tire pressure, through a software interface, dTPMS quantifies this based on accurate hardware sensors, something that those in search of accurate information prefer. The Chevrolet Colorado model has been in production since 2004 and with each generation a progressive improvement in the reliability and performance. The main design of this auto part is dedicated to the compact to mid-sized pickup truck, it has the compatibility with other models to make sure drivers can get the most out of the TPMS Sensor feature. However, one of the products in the automotive market that can exemplify the role of innovation is the Chevrolet Colorado TPMS Sensor because it offers a dual system that the consumers can choose from. Thus, the Chevrolet Colorado TPMS Sensor contributes to public awareness of safety measures and helps improve the driver's performance.

Chevrolet Colorado TPMS Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the TPMS Sensor on Chevrolet Colorado?
    A:
First lift your vehicle using a proper support system and detach the tire along with wheel assembly. Before tire removal place the sensor's components on a clean dry surface with aluminum caps and nickel-plated valves to stop corrosion from occurring. For bead separation from wheel contact place the bead breaking fixture at a 90-degree angle to the valve stem then carefully insert the tire iron or pry bar just clockwise of the sensor body to pry upward and over the mounting/dismounting head. The tire machine requires clock-wise rotation of the tire/wheel assembly while moving tire beads to obtain proper rim positioning around the rim. Repeat this process for both tire bead layers. Run a thorough cleanup to remove every bit of remaining tire sealant from inside both the wheel surface and the tire. Evacuate the tire pressure sensor nut and its associated sensor from the wheel assembly. Installation begins with a cleaning of grommet sealing area followed by sensor insertion into wheel hole with air pass facing outward from wheel. Then install the sensor nut and adjust body position parallel to inside wheel surface before tightening the nut to 7 N.m (62 lb in). When ready to reinstall the tire use a mounting/dismounting head at 180 degrees from the valve stem while the bead transition area faces 45 degrees counterclockwise relative to the valve stem. After this, rotate the tire/wheel assembly clockwise to move the tire beads inside the wheel rim. Perform the same operation for the outer bead. The service replacement tire pressure sensor arrives in OFF mode so it needs to reach 32 km/h (20 mph) for ten seconds minimum to reach the internal roll switch before memory learning through the passenger door module (PDM). After installing the tire/wheel assembly onto the vehicle you should lower the vehicle before learning the tire pressure sensors.
