  • Q: How to replace the Knock Sensor (KS) on Chevrolet Colorado?
    A: In order to replace the knock sensor (KS), raise and support the vehicle just enough to get the KS through the wheelhouse and pull out the left wheel house liner. Before you take the KS out of the engine block, disconnect the engine wire harness electrical connector from the KS and remove the KS retaining bolt. For installation; make sure you install the KS and the retaining bolt back on the engine block with the electrical terminals located rearward; and to tighten the knock sensor (KS) bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). Next, plug back the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the KS, reinstall the left wheelhouse liner, lowering the vehicle, lastly.
