Start by mounting a thin wooden piece in front of the Piston followed by directing compressed air toward the brake hose inlet port for Piston removal. Start by removing the Piston boot and Piston seal after which remove the brake caliper bleed screw cap and bleed screw. An inspection should be performed on the brake caliper bore as well as the Piston seal groove for signs of excessive damage or rust. Brake caliper housing replacement may be needed. Map all brake caliper mounting bracket guide surfaces for wear and replace the bracket in cases of wear. Clean all excess material from the brake pad guide surfaces both on the caliper housing and bracket. Also use denatured alcohol to cleanse all repair kit excluded components before drying the parts with filtered air to clear passages in both housing and bleeder valve. Before placing the new seals into their grooves add brake fluid gm p/n 12388967 or canadian p/n 992667 to lubricate these grooves and the new Piston seals. Place the brake fluid on the brake caliper bores and pistons then place the boot over the Piston so it faces the brake caliper housing Piston bore opening while you seat the boot into its groove before applying pressure to push the Piston down to reach the bottom. The boot seats must fit correctly in the Piston groove and brake caliper bore groove while repeating this step for multiple pistons and lastly replace the brake caliper to its original position within the vehicle.
