Q: How to replace the canister purge valves on Chevrolet Express 1500?
A: First, disconnect the air cleaner assembly to change the evap canister purge solenoid valve. Next, press the evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe quick connect fitting retainer inward, and disconnect the evap pipe from the evap purge solenoid . Then, disconnect the evap purge solenoid electrical connector and loosening the evap purge solenoid mount bolt. Later, remove the evap purge solenoid and the insulator from the engine. For installation, begin with placing the insulator on the evap canister purge valve and install the valve to the engine. Mount the evap canister purge valve by the bolt and tighten to 10.5 n.m (93 lb in). Link up the evap pipe to the evap canister purge valve and connect the electrical connector. Lastly, reassemble the air cleaner assembly.
