In order to replace the inflatable restraint front end sensor you must first disable the SIR for safety purposes. Do not displace or jar the sensor, and use sureness that it is firmly fixed on before connecting up to power to avert deployment or injury. Lift and support the vehicle, then remove the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) from the sensor's electrical connector and disconnect the connector. remove the mounting nut and slide the sensor towards the front of the vehicle out of the keyhole slot in the lower radiator support . In order to install, there is need to clean the mount surface and make sure the arrow in the sensor is pointing towards the front of the vehicle. Put the sensor into the keyhole slot in the lower radiator support and push it to the back to properly seat it. Tighten the nut up to 10 N.m (89 lb in), reconnect the electrical connector, and reinstalling the CPA. Lastly, take off the safety stands, lower the vehicle and activate the SIR system.
