How to replace the engine oil pressure switch on Chevrolet Express 3500?

Engine cover removal together with the air cleaner assembly is a starting point toward replacing the engine Oil Pressure Switch. Use a wrench to hold the eop gauge switch fitting after disconnecting the electrical connector from the engine oil pressure (EOP) gauge switch. Manufacturer j 41712 provides the required Oil Pressure Switch socket to remove the eop gauge switch by first paying attention to the eop gauge switch fitting alignment. To continue, remove the eop switch fitting if needed. Sealant gm p/n 12346004 or an equivalent application should cover the eop switch fitting threads before installation at 15 n.m (11 lb ft) torque while avoiding 359 degrees fitting rotation after the initial torque setting. Start with the eop switch fitting at 50 degrees from the centerline before putting the eop switch into position. Apply a wrench to stabilize the eop switch fitting before using the Oil Pressure Switch socket (J 41712) to apply torque at 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Reestablish the electrical connection followed by installing the engine cover and the air cleaner assembly.
