In order to replace the cruise control release switch, position the ignition key in off or lock position, as well as ensure all electrical loads are off. If tools may come into contact with live, electrical terminals, disconnect the negative cable of the battery to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage. Be aware that vehicle is equipped with supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system and failure to follow procedure will result in air bag deployment, personal injury or unnecessary repairs. First remove the driver knee bolster panel and then disconnect the electrical connector from the cruise control cruise release switch and a switch out of the retainer in the brake pedal bracket. To install, return cruise control release switch to retainer, reconnect the electrical connector and then adjust the switch, and finally, install the driver side knee bolster panel.
