The first step to remove a Fuel Injector requires eased fuel system pressure. You must begin by taking away both the upper Intake Manifold together with the Fuel Rail. Follow this process to remove the Fuel Injector by first unclipping its retaining mechanisms and then extracting it from its position while you take out the Fuel Injector upper o-ring and the Fuel Injector lower o-ring . After installation each Fuel Injector should receive precise flow rate calibration while using correct part numbers for replacements. The brown o-ring should be installed into the lower position on the Fuel Injector while at the same time reinstating the nylon back up collar to guide the o-ring into its correct position. The low position of the sealing o-ring requires the back up nylon collar to be in place to stop the o-ring from moving while installing the Fuel Rail to avoid vacuum leaks and driveability problems. Among the first steps of installation should be to attach the Fuel Injector upper o-ring followed by installing the Fuel Injector lower o-ring on the injector. Fasten the Fuel Injector onto the Fuel Rail by using retaining clips for security. Rehook the negative Battery Cable after installing the Fuel Rail while properly fastening the fuel filler cap. To check for fuel leaks activate the ignition switch on for 2 seconds and off for 10 seconds before activating it again while looking for any leakage.
