  Q: How to replace the power seat switch on Chevrolet Lumina?

  A: A short from power feed circuit to any wire must be verified before replacing the power seat switch because it could damage the new switch component. Taking proper precautions when removing the seat switch from the harness will prevent shorting between its hot feed and ground terminals. Turn off the ignition key while pulling it out from the ignition. After turning off the ignition you should disconnect the finish trim panel along with the power seat switch screws. Remove power seat switch from its seat after detaching both the electrical connector from the harness and pulling it away from the finish panel. When installing the power seat switch you must connect it to the finish trim panel while observing the Fastener Notice. After torquing the power seat switch screws to 3 N.m (27 lb in) you should connect the electrical connector to the harness before reinstalling the finish trim panel .
