Chevrolet Malibu Antenna Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the antenna mast on Chevrolet Malibu?
A: A service or repair of the Antenna mast requires initial tool surface tape application to protect the Antenna mast paint from damage. Start the procedure by taking the Antenna mast out from its base. Locate the Antenna Base by pulling back the carpet in the rear compartment of your vehicle which should be accessible through the open rear trunk lid. Start by unbolting the Antenna Base mounting and disconnecting the Antenna lead from the Antenna Base. You can remove the Antenna Base from the Antenna mounting spacer by pulling it downwards. To finish installation work connect the Antenna lead to the Antenna Base then push the Antenna Base up onto the Antenna mounting spacer. Fasten the Antenna mounting bolts into the Antenna Base with a torque of 6 n.m (53 lb in). The last step includes replacing the rear compartment carpet before closing the rear trunk lid and securing the Antenna mast to the Antenna Base.
