How to replace the left exhaust manifold on a 3.5L engine on Chevrolet Malibu?

Before replacing a 3.5l left Exhaust Manifold one needs to gather a suitable set of tools that should include the heated Oxygen Sensor socket (J 39194-B). Start by removing the duct for air intake before extracting the connector position assurance retainer and disconnecting the heated Oxygen Sensor electrical connector. The sensor's operating performance can be damaged if the ho2s's permanently attached pigtail and connector are removed. The heated Oxygen Sensor socket (J 39194-B) should be used to undo the ho2s and complete the Exhaust Manifold heat shield bolt removal and shield uninstallation. Before lowering the vehicle first remove the spark plugs followed by the front Catalytic Converter and then disconnect the spark plugs. To start with remove Exhaust Manifold nuts followed by extracting the Exhaust Manifold and disposing the used Exhaust Manifold Gasket. To complete the installation apply a new Exhaust Manifold Gasket on the cylinder head studs before putting on the Exhaust Manifold while tightening its nuts to 16 nm (12 ft. Lbs.). The installation process should begin with front Catalytic Converter and Spark Plug replacement followed by heat shield and bolts installation with 10 nm (89 inch lbs.) tension. To install the Oxygen Sensor, apply gm p/n 5613695 nickel-based anti-seize compound to its threads and use heated Oxygen Sensor socket (J 39194-B) to tighten the ho2s to 42 nm (31 ft. Lbs.). Complete the process by reconnecting the ho2s electrical connector then installing the cpa retainer followed by putting back the air intake duct.
