The replacement process for the left Exhaust Manifold starts by removing the throttle body air inlet duct followed by draining the engine coolant from the cooling system. The next step requires removal of the right engine mount strut bracket along with disconnecting the inlet Radiator Hose from the engine and removing the thermostat bypass pipe. As a next step remove the exhaust crossover pipe together with Exhaust Manifold heat shield bolts and the heat shield itself. First remove all Exhaust Manifold nuts before taking out both the Exhaust Manifold and its gasket from the engine block. The left Exhaust Manifold needs cleaning before installing it on the left cylinder head sealing surfaces of the engine. The Exhaust Manifold process begins by installing the gasket and manifold while using 16 n.m (12 lb ft) torque when securing the manifold nuts. You should position the Exhaust Manifold heat shield followed by its bolts before tightening them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Put back the exhaust crossover pipe and the thermostat bypass pipe before attaching the inlet Radiator Hose to the engine and reinstalling the right engine mount strut bracket. The procedure ends by adding engine coolant to the cooling system followed by mounting the throttle body air inlet duct.

Remove the right exhaust manifold nuts and the manifold, followed by the gasket.

Connect the Heated Oxygen (HO2S) Sensor electrical connector, then install the ignition control module and its bracket, followed by the MAP sensor.

Install the Heated Oxygen Sensor (H02S) and the new exhaust manifold gasket, followed by the exhaust manifold.

Raise and support the vehicle, then remove the three-way catalytic converter pipe and the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) tube from the right exhaust manifold.

Take off the left exhaust manifold heat shield bolts and the heat shield.

If removed, install the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) and the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve pipe.

Take off the exhaust manifold heat shield fasteners and the heat shield itself, followed by the exhaust manifold nuts, and finally remove the exhaust manifold along with the gaskets.

Reattach the exhaust manifold heat shield and secure it with the heat shield bolts, tightening them to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).

Remove the throttle body air inlet duct and the engine mount struts, then rotate the engine forward.

Attach the exhaust manifold heat shield and secure it with bolts tightened to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).

Place the left exhaust manifold gasket.

Install the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield and bolts, which should be tightened to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).

Install the exhaust manifold heat shield, securing it with bolts tightened to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).

Take off the right engine mount strut bracket and the thermostat bypass pipe.

Remove the heated oxygen sensor from it.

Reinstall the oil level indicator tube bracket.

Take off the evaporative emissions (EVAP) solenoid bracket, exhaust crossover heat shield bolts, and the heat shield itself.

Install the left hand exhaust manifold heat shield, securing it with bolts tightened to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).

Place the left exhaust manifold gasket and then install the left exhaust manifold.

Install the lower and upper exhaust manifold heat shields, securing the heat shield bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).

Remove the ignition module and ignition coils with the bracket, spark plug wires from the engine right bank spark plugs, oxygen sensor electrical connector, and evaporative emissions (EVAP) solenoid bracket.

Remove the exhaust manifold gasket and clean the sealing surfaces of the engine left side exhaust manifold to the engine left side cylinder head.

Reinstall the catalytic converter, lower the vehicle, and attach the exhaust crossover pipe nuts/studs to the engine right side exhaust manifold along with the heat shield.

Place the exhaust manifold gasket and then the exhaust manifold.
