How to replace the left exhaust manifold on 2001 Chevrolet Impala?

The replacement of the left Exhaust Manifold begins by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by taking off the air cleaner intake duct. Begin by removing the right engine mount strut bracket and proceed to detach the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield and its bolts before removing the heat shield. Unscrew the exhaust crossover pipe nuts attached to the left Exhaust Manifold.,next step is to remove all left Exhaust Manifold heat shield bolts while taking out the heat shield completely from the space. You should first take off the left Exhaust Manifold nuts followed by removing the manifold and the left Exhaust Manifold Gasket. After cleaning and inspecting the left Exhaust Manifold mating surfaces the mechanic will install both a new gasket and the left Exhaust Manifold. Follow-up the 16 nm (12 ft. Lbs.) torque specifications for left Exhaust Manifold nuts by mounting the left Exhaust Manifold heat shield and its bolts to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). After securing the exhaust crossover pipe nuts on the left Exhaust Manifold with 25 nm torque (18 ft. Lbs.) proceed to put on the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield and its bolts before tightening them to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). The right engine mount strut bracket, the air cleaner intake duct and negative Battery Cable should be reinstalled after the process.
