    Q:
How to replace the right rear exhaust manifold on Chevrolet Monte Carlo? Posted by Customer
    A:
First step to replace the right rear Exhaust Manifold requires removal of the fuel injector sight shield followed by the cross vehicle brace and exhaust crossover pipe from the right Exhaust Manifold. First detach the egr adapter pipe and the air pipe only when present on the vehicle. Begin by lifting the vehicle and then disconnect the catalytic converter pipe from the right Exhaust Manifold followed by lowering the vehicle. The heated Oxygen Sensor pigtail lead must be removed from the generator bracket brace before disconnecting the right Spark Plug Wires. Begin by uninstalling the right engine lift bracket bolt along with the nut and proceed with removing the right engine lift bracket. The first step requires removal of the fuel injector sight shield bracket nuts before proceeding to uninstall the bracket followed by extracting the transaxle fluid filler tube. Start by unfastening the bolts and nuts securing the right Exhaust Manifold and gasket where they can be detached along with the upper and lower right Exhaust Manifold heat shields. The heated Oxygen Sensor needs removal from the manifold before proceeding with a manifold replacement. Installation should start by placing the heated Oxygen Sensor onto the new manifold before putting on both lower and upper right Exhaust Manifold heat shields. The egr pipe outlet should be checked for leaks while the egr adapter must be replaced if needed. Begin by placing an entirely new right Exhaust Manifold Gasket before installing the right Exhaust Manifold and tighten its bolts and nuts to 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). Install the transaxle fluid filler tube while attaching the fuel injector sight shield bracket with its nuts set at 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). The right engine lift bracket requires reinstallation along with fastening the bolt and nut at 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). Place the right Spark Plug Wires back in position and put the wiring harness and heater hose retaining clips onto the fuel injector sight shield bracket. After that, raise the vehicle for support. Connect the catalytic converter pipe to the right Exhaust Manifold before lowering the vehicle and install the air pipe if installed. The egr adapter pipe goes onto the right Exhaust Manifold before installing the exhaust crossover pipe and the fuel injector sight shield.
