How to replace the left exhaust manifold on 2002 Chevrolet Impala?

One should start replacement of the left Exhaust Manifold after disconnecting the negative Battery Cable and removing the air cleaner intake duct. Start by unfastening the right engine mount strut bracket followed by the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield bolts along with its attaching shield. Unfasten nuts securing the exhaust crossover pipe to the left Exhaust Manifold before removing bolts of the heat shield and the heat shield itself. To proceed further remove both left Exhaust Manifold nuts and pull out the manifold using the left Exhaust Manifold Gasket. Check for dirt and examine the mating areas of the left Exhaust Manifold before proceeding. When installing the left Exhaust Manifold begin by applying its gasket followed by installing the manifold itself. Secure the left Exhaust Manifold nuts using a torque of 16 nm before tightening them to a level of 12 ft. Lbs. Install the left Exhaust Manifold heat shield followed by its bolts while tightening them to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Fasten the exhaust crossover pipe nuts onto the left Exhaust Manifold until they reach 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) torque and then secure the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield along with its bolts with a 10 nm (89 inch lbs.) torque. Reattach the right engine mount strut bracket along with the air cleaner intake duct before restoring the battery negative cable.
