How to service and repair the control arm bushing on Chevrolet Metro?

Starting the Control Arm Bushing repair process requires complete Control Arm removal from the vehicle. The Control Arm Bushing service set (J 34865) with a press allows users to extract the rear bushing from the Control Arm . Before installation disconnect the front Control Arm Bracket from the Control Arm by removing its nut and washers. Cut off the front bushing's flange with a knife then reinstall the Control Arm Bushing service set (J 34865) and press to extract the front bushing from the Control Arm. Soak each bushing with soap water around its circumference until they become easily installable while positioning them at the Control Arm's center point. After using a Control Arm Bushing service set (J 34865) and press to insert both the front bushing into the Control Arm and then the rear bushing into the Control Arm make sure the rear bushing placement is exact. First install the front Control Arm Bracket to the Control Arm using washers and the hex nut. Tighten the front Control Arm Bracket nut to 125 nm (92 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the Control Arm back to the vehicle.
