The Oil Pan in Chevrolet Metro vehicles is used to hold and store Engine Oil to prevent direct contact and to also regulate the temperature of the Engine components. Featuring a wet sump design the Oil Pan receives the oil that pass through a pickup tube due to the pressure of the oil pump and then the oil is circulated within the engine before returning to the pan. Thus, this design is a necessity when aiming at achieving the optimal results with the work of engines and their ability to operate efficiently under different conditions. The first Chevrolet Metro Oil Pans were normally built using stamped steel process, yet we have witnessed development in design to incorporate cast aluminum process. All these shifts improve robustness and effectiveness in the product development pipeline. The basic function of each part or component is the same but it can vary from model to model in terms of material and layout and this may affect the efficiency of a component in terms of its ability to handle the flow of oil especially in conditions such as dynamic driving. In essence, the Oil Pan is a vital component for the proper operation of the Chevrolet Metro's lubrication system hence, its importance cannot be overemphasized.
