Chevrolet Metro Throttle Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Throttle Position Sensor on Chevrolet Metro?
A: Begin Throttle Position Sensor service by first eliminating the bolt that connects the air inlet duct resonator to the air intake box. First loosen the hose clamp on the resonator pipe so you can swing the pipe aside. Disconnect the electrical connector which serves the throttle position (TP) sensor before removing two screws to detach the ip sensor from the Throttle Body. The tp sensor setup on the Throttle Body requires the tp sensor upper screw hole placement slightly ahead of the Throttle Body's hole for proper engagement between the throttle lever tab and tp sensor movement. Rotate the tp sensor rearward to align the screw holes and install the 2 screws, tightening them to 2.0 n.m (18 lb in). The tp sensor electrical connector connects first followed by attaching the resonator pipe to the air intake box and fitting it with one bolt. Complete this operation by tightening the resonator's hose clamp.
