Chevrolet Monte Carlo Hood Latch Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the hood latch on Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
A: The first step for Hood Latch replacement requires users to open the hood before removing upper radiator air baffle components and support bracket from front upper fascia. The first step is marking the Hood Latch position on the center support with a grease pencil while you remove bolts from the Hood Latch but protect the hood release cable from damage. Before removing the Hood Latch users must first detach the hood release cable by compressing its retaining device then disconnect the Hood Latch from the vehicle. Attach the hood release cable to the new Hood Latch and adjust its position according to the marks on the center support bracket. Screw the bolts into place to fix the Hood Latch to the center support while tightening them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Require the technician to return the support bracket to its position on the front upper fascia along with upper radiator air baffle installation. Make necessary hood adjustments before leaving it shut.
