Chevrolet Monte Carlo Oil Cooler Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe on Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
A: For replacement of the Engine Oil Cooler hose/pipe, to begin with, you must remove the Engine Oil Cooler from your vehicle as well as the right engine splash shield. Remove the Engine Oil Cooler lines from the engine oil filter adapter and then unscrew the Engine Oil Cooler line mounting bolt along with the Engine Oil Cooler line mounting block. Cut and take the tie strap used to attach the Engine Oil Cooler lines to the frame off, and then remove the Engine Oil Cooler lines from the vehicle. For installation, make sure to route the Engine Oil Cooler lines beneath the Battery Cable before routing the same back to the vehicle alongside the Engine Oil Cooler. Cook on a low heat if one exists, occasionally stirring the spices and oil, until you get a rich, deep color from the spices -- this could take anywhere from twenty minutes to an hour, depending how strong you want the curry and the quantities of coconut milk and tomatoes used. Remove the lid to look for the right shade of brown, testing the flavor on a lump of rice or a small piece of saute onion. Mount the Engine Oil Cooler lines to the mounting block of the Engine Oil Cooler lines, and install the bolt to through the mounting block screws, tightening it into a torque of 3.4 nm (30 in lb). Lastly, tighten a new tie strap on the lines and frame, reinstall the right engine splash shield, and add the correct amount of engine oil.
