Chevrolet Prizm Oxygen Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Replace a Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Without Damaging the Pigtail and Connector on Chevrolet Prizm?
A: The replacement process of heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 1 starts by disconnecting its electrical connector then removing its 2 hold down nuts. The replacement process requires you to extract the ho2s 1 while maintaining the integrity of the permanently attached pigtail and connector which cannot be damaged because damage will disable the sensor's functionality. Handle the Oxygen Sensor with gentle touch to avoid dropping it and maintain both the in-line connector and louvered end free of contaminants by using only non-chemical cleaning agents. Damaged pigtail wiring and terminals or connector of an Oxygen Sensor will require a sensor replacement. Insert the ho2s 1 gasket onto the Exhaust Manifold before you install the ho2s 1 onto the Exhaust Manifold following the fastener notice in service precautions. Secure the installation process by using 44 n.m (32 lb ft) torque on 2 ho2s 1 hold down nuts and connect the ho2s 1 electrical connector again.
