    Q: How to service and repair the Exhaust Pipe on Chevrolet Prizm?
    A: Before working on the Exhaust Pipe the technician needs to raise and support the vehicle. Cut the heated Oxygen Sensor 1 loose before removing two Exhaust Manifold bolts and the two springs from the Exhaust Manifold. Detaching the clamp and one bolt permits removal of the front pipe from its position between the front pipe and three way Catalytic Converter (TWC). Wash the gasket material and apply a new gasket when putting back the front pipe. Use the two springs and two bolts to connect the front pipe to the manifold before initial fastening by hand. You must next attach the front pipe onto the twc by installing a new seal along with one clamp and bolt while performing finger tightening on the bolt. All system components need proper alignment to avoid noise and vibrations during fastener tightening. The front pipe-to-exhaust manifold bolts should be tightened to 50nm (37 ft. Lbs.) while the front pipe-to-twc clamp bolt receives 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Lower the vehicle after finishing the installation of heated Oxygen Sensor 1.
