Accredited with great reputation the Chevrolet Prizm Exhaust Manifold facilitates the flow of hot gases from its engine to the exhaust system for efficient and safer working of the engine through the control of toxic emanations. This component fits in and is used in a variety of Chevrolet Prizm generations; the first generation which came with the 1.6 L 4A-FE engine, the second generation which had the 1.8 L 1ZZ-FE engine and the third generation cars. Made of cast iron or stainless steel, the Chevrolet Prizm Exhaust Manifold ensures that there is no intake reversion which narrows the flow of air and is bad for the performance of the engine. Not only does its design improve exhaust gas velocity but its design is also useful in improving fuel economy, thus netting Chevrolet Prizm impressive fuel economy ratings of 28 mpg in the city 32 mpg on the highway. Some of the characteristics of Chevrolet Prizm Exhaust Manifold include high durability due to the use of heat tumbler metals that will not corrode and therefore long-lasting and efficient. Chevrolet Prizm Exhaust Manifold is yet another extraordinary feature in the market that works well towards the improvement of exhaust flow, thus readily defining the experience of driving. This Chevrolet Prizm Exhaust Manifold is a perfect union of reliability, efficiency and performance of the car; thus it is a perfect fit part for every Chevrolet Prizm owner who wants to elongate the life span of his car as well as improve on its performance.

Chevrolet Prizm Exhaust Manifold Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the exhaust manifold on Chevrolet Prizm?
    A:
Replacement of the Exhaust Manifold requires waiting until the exhaust system cools down and disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Begin the procedure by disconnecting the electrical connector of the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S1) and unfastening both Oxygen Sensor nuts then removing the Oxygen Sensor gasket and Oxygen Sensor itself. Begin by supporting the vehicle properly and remove two bolts along with Exhaust Manifold springs from the Exhaust Manifold flange area and then uninstall the exhaust gasket. Lower the vehicle while removing one bolt that connects the Exhaust Manifold to the manifold support bracket. Now uninstall the six upper heat insulator bolts as well as take out the heat insulator. The maintenance process proceeds by unthreading the five Exhaust Manifold nuts before taking out the Exhaust Manifold along with its gasket. The next step is to remove the three lower heat insulator bolts and the lower heat insulator. Install the lower heat insulator onto the Exhaust Manifold with three bolts before torquing them to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.). Use five Exhaust Manifold nuts to fasten the Exhaust Manifold along with the new gasket by tightening them to 48 nm (36 ft. Lbs.). Secure the upper heat insulator through six bolts while tightening the bolts to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) before lifting the car and maintaining its support. One bolt must be installed onto the Exhaust Manifold support bracket then tightened to 32 nm (24 ft. Lbs.) before connecting the front Exhaust Pipe to the manifold flange with two bolts and two springs while tightening the bolts to 62 nm (46 ft. Lbs.). The new Oxygen Sensor gasket and Oxygen Sensor should be installed onto the front Exhaust Pipe while the heated Oxygen Sensor needs to be secured using two nuts at 41 nm (30 ft. Lbs. Torque). The final step includes connecting the electrical connector of (HO2S1) and reattaching the negative Battery Cable while tightening its bolt to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.).
