How to replace the muffler on Chevrolet Prizm?

The process of Muffler replacement begins with vehicle elevation and support. Drain both bolts and gasket from the front pipe/three-way Catalytic Converter (TWC) assembly after unscrewing 2 bolts and hanger from installing the Muffler. Start by cleaning the seal mating surfaces of the vehicle then continue to the next step. During installation connect the Muffler/Tail Pipe assembly to the front pipe twc assembly with a new gasket while using finger pressure on both connection bolts. Screw the hanger in place to the Muffler before applying light torque to its bolts. Check that all system components are properly aligned to avoid noise or vibrations before applying torque to the twc-Muffler assembly and hanger bolts. Torque the bolts to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) and hanger bolts to 13 nm (115 inch lbs.), respectively. Finally, lower the vehicle.
