How to replace the engine oil and oil filter on Chevrolet S10?

The process of replacing engine oil requires support for the vehicle and must begin by raising it. A suitable container should receive the engine oil when you remove the Drain Plug from the oil pan. If your vehicle has 2wd you should extract the Oil Filter from the Oil Filter adapter and four-wheel drive systems require uninstallation of the Oil Filter from the remote Oil Filter adapter through the access panel on the steering linkage shield. The removal of the Oil Filter gasket is necessary before proceeding. Clean engine oil should be used to lubricate the Oil Filter gasket. The installation of rwd oil filters goes to the Oil Filter adapter and four-wheel drive oil filters are installed on the remote Oil Filter adapter following the filter instructions for torque. Fasten the oil pan Drain Plug into its place by using 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) torque. Lower the vehicle to then fill the crankcase with proper quantity and quality of engine oil. Engine operation involves leak inspection along with oil pressure checks and the four-wheel drive vehicles require the access panel in the steering linkage shield closed for safety.
