A: To change the engine Oil Pressure Switch first, you will need to gather the tools such as: Oil Pressure Switch socket (J 41712). Start by cleaning the surrounding of the switch and Distributor to avoid debris from getting in the engine. Unplug the connector for the engine Oil Pressure Switch, and then remove the Distributor from the system. Remove the engine Oil Pressure Switch using the Oil Pressure Switch socket (J 41712) and remember the alignment in the fitting before removing. If necessary, take off the engine Oil Pressure Switch fitting. Seal the threads of the fitting or the engine Oil Pressure Switch using sealant gm p/n 12346004 or equivalent. In case the fitting had been taken off, reinstall it and tighten it to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.). Next, install the engine Oil Pressure Switch and tighten using the Oil Pressure Switch socket (J 41712) into a torque of 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs). The engine Oil Pressure Switch electrical connector should be reconnected, the Distributor should be reinstalled back on, and at last, the engine oil level should be checked and adjusted.
